Patience
I tripped last night at the somber patience
Walking past the wholesome day
my soul laced with helpless laughter
A pure apocalyptic disheveled moment,
taken over by the wind of roses
Breezing through the enchanted lake
I mirthfully walked bare foot
Wanton steps on the grass needles
tingled tenaciously at my soles
There it was, a transparent silhouette
outstretched arms waiting in patience
As if to foul my newfound love
Not now dear! Not now!
I hear the words whispering &
smothering my resolute pleasure
Why not?
After all I am free and your claims
no longer hold the grounds
You flew I want to fly too!
I whispered aloud all in one breath
but stopped half way by cold lips over mine
Not now dear! Not now!
I heard the patient echo over and over
Giving in to the persistent patience
I took the waiting hands and walked
hand in hand, polite but curt
It seemed like an eternal journey
Barefoot on the crunchy leaves in
the forest, velvety darkness,
his hands around my waist
as if to subdue unseen shivers
We wandered through the
rabbit roads leading to the
ocean. In the distance I could hear
the laughter of the oceanic waves
Sudden yet gentle stroke on my spine
tingling soft flurries on my cheeks
neutralizing that inner warmth
and gently withdrawing hands
smilingly deft fingers brushing
my hair, the voice said pointing
to the crashing waves of the ocean,
depth, desert, dunes, death, and
a dirge for you. All in this ocean
Now is the time.
Now my dear! Now my dear!
Loveless
Trapped in your irreversibly entangled loveless
tentacles at the bottom of this remorseless sea,
I gasp for an uprising breath
Last night the un-melting snow covered water summits
of deep dark ocean desert conquered the ambered
sunlight in burying our once heightened unmatched prophecy
Beyond pain, joy, and hope, and long suspense
I wonder if I want to be your accomplice
in the crab-sponge camouflage treaty
neck arched backward, angling for prey?
Because once I surface to absorb
and breathe the sun and wriggle out of your rim,
you and I will no longer be one
for I, like a phoenix will soar from
the ebbed, damp ashes to the heights unknown
In time your tightly folded, faded
paper nautilus imprints around me
will fade with the tidal currents
washing over the deserting sand
How drastically we changed and unchanged!
In planning to climb the sun but falling in the deep end
You, an oceanic surface surfer of ambitious tidal waves
a restless spirited wandering soul, find hard to be still
a disabled anchor for the ultimate oceanic depth
your weaving woolen words and moist reproaches
evaporate even before they reach my heart
deserter of the unfathomable love
we are ready to part
in the last act of our swan dance, save the sinking soul
glide backwards with the tide and release the finger’s hold
It’s time to take a bow and let go of the cold.
